Show Your Shorts has been proud to show some of the world’s best short films in our last three years. We have shown everything from student and experimental films to Academy Award Winners.  These are just a few of our favorites.
Seventeen Seconds to Sophie by Bill Cote

This very short experimental film is precise and to the point. Bill uses stop motion to capture the changes of his pregnant wife’s body and her final product, Sophie. It won Best Experimental Film at the Shorts International Film Festival in 1998. Bill is now working on a similar piece, which we can’t wait to see.

Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase by Joan Gratz

This Academy Award winning animated short takes you through the progression of modern art with Joan’s clay painting technique. It took ten years to complete this amazing film and her hard work definitely paid off.
Script Doctor by the Fields Brothers

This smart comedy has an "ER" feel as it takes you from "patient" to "patient." (Patients being screenplays.) Very funny, especially for those in the film industry.
We Are All Angels by Simon Lelouch

French filmmaker’s short comedy includes actors Ticky Holgado of "Delicatessen" and Remi Martin, winner of the French Oscar equivalent. We see two priests and their paranoia as they journey on a train during a time of bomb threats.
Tenacity by Chris Eyre

One of the very first films that aired on Show Your Shorts. This award winning short deals with two Native American boys who confront "rednecks." Chris went from NYU student to feature filmmaker. His recent feature, "Smoke Signals", played at Angelica Film Center here in NY.
Eddie

Director Jim Dougherty made this piece about the eccentric neighbor in his East Village community garden. Eddie built a huge structure in the garden which just keeps growing, and taking over other peopleís gardens. This film captures the personality and motivation behind the very interesting mind of Eddie. It is an East Village favorite.

Interview with director Roberto Lopez

Roberto's short film Crazyheads, caught my attention at a festival in the East Village. This well shot, high energy piece deals with a man, a woman, and how drugs affect their evening. Under the direction of Roberto, this is a well acted and intense film to watch, enough that it landed Roberto a commercial directing gig for Everlast. We hope to see more films by him soon.
